This kid really can sleep anywhere...

Wow, I did not realize that it had been so long since I have had any new posts. We have been crazy busy, so I am hoping we can slow down and enjoy a few weeks of the summer before it is gone. Marty's mom's house was impacted by the flooding in Indiana a couple of weeks ago, but it looks like everything is going to dry out fine there. Right after that, we spent a week with my family. My brother and his family were not able to come out again, but the rest of us were able to get together, it was a lot of fun. I will post some pictures from that trip tomorrow. Anyway, I thought I would be put these pictures of Tate up tonight. There is a high step up from the den to the dining room. Tate hates because he cannot get over it yet. One day, he fell asleep during his attempt, with his face smashed against the step. Proving once again that babies really can sleep anywhere. The boys and I thought it so funny, we had to take some pictures before I moved him.

OHVA Celebration Days

Ry's school had their big end of the year activities last week. In the Cincinnati area, they have the celebration at the Museum Center downtown. There are three museums in the old train station, it is a neat building. The three museums are a Children's Museum, Natural History and Science, and the Cincinnati History Museum. They are pretty nice. They boys love the Children's Museum the most, of course. But, the Natural History museum has some pretty cool exhibits, the best being a big cave with bats (behind glass) and dripping water with a decent size pool that I am waiting for Kol to fall into one time. It is pretty realistic. Okay, but the first picture is one of the freakiest things to me. It is the bones of the head of an Ohio Armored Fish, which was about 25 feet long and have been extinct for about 360 million years. I had Ry stand by it to get the effect of the size. It just gives me the creeps every time, I just can't even imagine a fish that size that looks like it could swallow you in one gulp! Anyway, I had to share.

Oh, and yes, Tate is almost always that happy. I don't know what I did to deserve it, but Heavenly Father blessed us with a happy little guy. Those other two aren't too bad either. :)

Mother's Day

Okay, this is an odd way to start this post, but Poor Marty. I beat him up a little in the days leading up to Mother's Day. My Mother's Days in the past have been not what I desired them to be and I wasn't being subtle about it. But, I had a great day this year! The boys helped make breakfast and brought it to me in bed. Marty got me a gift certificate for a massage at a day spa, which I guess I should get scheduled! The boys finally went up to sing with the Primary this year and they actually sang, that was the best present they could give me. After church, we went over to my Aunt Karma's with my parents and had dinner. I think Ry and Kol ate half of the fruit and veggie trays while dinner was being prepared, at least it was healthy stuff. Tate is gleeful because his Meme shared lots of cake with him. The guys served up a great meal. It was a nice, relaxing day, I don't think it could have been better.

Zoo Babies

The zoo had a few weekends of Zoo Babies. We went the Saturday before Mother's Day. It was a good time as always. The most unique baby was the Sumatran Rhino. He is about a year old now. They are very interesting animals. They are very temperature sensitive, so this was the first time we had a chance to see him. Tate has a great day. It is awful, but my 8-month-old loves Curious George and Clifford. So, when I don't feel like getting up yet, he gets to watch PBS Kids. The zoo had Curious George there that day and Miss Lori, who does the in between hosting on PBS Kids. She did a show, which Kol and Tate loved! I think Ry enjoyed it, but did not want to admit it because he is way too old and way too cool for that, so he says. Kol wanted to meet her after the show, Ry protested, but managed to smile for the picture anyway. I didn't know 6-year-olds had to be so cool, I guess it has only just begun! :)

Reds Game

We have talked about going to a Reds game since we moved up here, but it has never happened. So, I bought tickets when the boys and I were downtown last week. We decided to surprise Marty and I was very impressed they were able to keep it a secret. Ry is really enjoying baseball, so he was fairly interested in the game. Kol liked the play area and ice cream more than anything, I think. Tate fell asleep at the beginning of the 4th, but woke up to see the end of the game. The ballpark is pretty new and very nice. They had a big kids area with a playground and several baseball activities like virtual batting, pitching, and timing your run to first. The bullpens were open, so you could watch the pitchers warm up. There is also a Build-a-Bear store. Ken Griffey, Jr is chasing his 600th home run, he is at 597. We thought we were going to see 598 last night, but the Cubs center fielder made a great catch over the top of the wall. We had a good time and the Reds won, so there were a few fireworks at the end. I think that was Kol's favorite part of the game.

Batting Action

I took a couple of videos of the boys batting in their game on Saturday. They are so fun to watch. T-ball has some funny moments. Kol kind of trots between bases, which is really funny to us. Ry is not happy that I took a video of this particular at bat. He hits it in t he first or second try most of the time. But, I thought this was a fun at bat and once he hit it, it went to the outfield, so he shouldn't be ashamed.

First Kings Island Pics

I will try not to bore you with too many Kings Island pictures over the summer. Honestly, I think I get tired of taking them at some point in the season. The boys (including Marty) like to go over about once a week, so we see plenty of amusement park action. We went over just for a couple of hours last Saturday. My sister, Lauren had a band competition in the area so they were at the park for some of the day. We rode one of the small coasters with her and her friends. The boys loved seeing her even if it was just for a few minutes. One of her friends, Josie (dark hair), came and stayed with us for Spring Break a few weeks ago. I think Kol has a little crush on her. :) Ry and Kol had a lot of fun hanging out with them. Tate is starting to ride a few rides. He can ride the helicopters (pictured), Scooby Doo, the Dora train ride, carousel, and the big train. He loves them all, we like to start them young! :)
